New Delhi, February 26 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Instagram account has crossed a staggering 100 million followers, making him the first world leader to achieve this digital feat. NDA leaders hailed the milestone as a testament to his global appeal, unwavering public engagement, and deep connection with India’s youth.
Since joining Instagram in 2014, PM Modi has transformed his presence into the most active and followed platform among global leaders. His posts, blending policy updates, personal moments, and international diplomacy, have resonated far beyond India’s borders. This growth underscores a deliberate strategy to communicate directly with citizens and the world, bypassing traditional media filters.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal described the achievement as a reflection of Modi’s worldwide influence. ‘Through his dedication and vision, PM Modi has carved a unique space not just in India but globally,’ he said. Khandelwal emphasized Modi’s role in positioning India as a ‘world guru’ and elevating its economy on the international stage, inspiring millions.
BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha linked this popularity to Modi’s decades-long rapport with the masses. ‘Such follower counts are typically reserved for global celebrities, yet Modi’s appeal has grown steadily over 20 years,’ Sinha noted. He pointed out that young Indians have embraced Modi’s forward-thinking vision, fueling this digital surge.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar called it a major accomplishment in an era where the new generation thrives on digital platforms. ‘PM Modi’s global credibility ensures his supporter base keeps expanding,’ he added. National Lok Morcha MLA Madhav Anand echoed this, stating Modi’s fame transcends India, reaching every corner of the globe.
Comparatively, PM Modi leads international leaders on Instagram. His X (formerly Twitter) account boasts 106.2 million followers, while Facebook has over 54 million. This dominance across platforms highlights his unmatched digital prowess, setting a new benchmark for political communication in the 21st century.
