Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron regarding the recent plane crash near Ahmedabad. Cameron offered her condolences and confirmed that the UK and India are cooperating to establish the facts of the tragedy. The UK is prepared to assist the families and friends of the British citizens involved. The Air India flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after departing from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, en route to London Gatwick. The crash resulted in 241 fatalities among the 242 people on board. The victims included a diverse group of nationalities. PM Modi also visited the crash site to assess the situation and meet with those involved in the recovery efforts. He also visited the injured at a local hospital.
