Patna’s Civil Court complex plunged into chaos once again on Thursday when an anonymous email threatened to blow up the entire premises with a bomb. This marks the third such hoax in just four days, raising serious concerns about security lapses and the motives behind these repeated intimidations.
Upon receiving the threatening message, authorities immediately evacuated the court premises as a precautionary measure. Security personnel swiftly sealed all three entry gates, barring anyone from entering until further notice. The swift action prevented potential panic among lawyers, litigants, and court staff who were present for daily proceedings.
Police from Pirbahor station, along with bomb disposal squads and canine units, rushed to the scene. Teams conducted a thorough search of every nook and cranny within the sprawling court complex. As of this report, no suspicious devices or materials have been discovered, but operations remain suspended.
Senior officers emphasized that no stone is being left unturned in the investigation. ‘We are leaving no aspect unchecked, including cyber trails from the email,’ stated a police spokesperson. Town DSP Rajesh Ranjan added that resuming normal judicial functions prematurely would be risky, prioritizing safety above all.
Sub-Inspector Sinku Kumari confirmed to reporters that searches are ongoing, with no explosive findings yet. The police are delving into cyber forensics to trace the sender, amid suspicions of a coordinated effort to disrupt court activities.
This incident follows similar threats on previous days, including Wednesday, which derailed the court appearance of Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, postponing his hearing. The recurring nature of these threats has sparked demands for enhanced surveillance and intelligence gathering at key judicial institutions in Bihar’s capital.
As investigations continue, the Patna Civil Court remains on high alert, underscoring the growing challenge of hoax bomb threats targeting public infrastructure. Authorities assure the public that robust measures are in place to neutralize any real dangers while pursuing those responsible for causing widespread disruption.
