Opposition Parties to Meet to Select Vice Presidential Nominee

With the Vice President’s office vacant following Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation, the focus has shifted to the upcoming election. The opposition, under the banner of the INDIA bloc, is actively strategizing. A meeting of INDIA bloc leaders is planned for the coming week to finalize the opposition’s candidate for Vice President. The dates of the meeting are expected to be August 18th and 19th. Mallikarjun Kharge, the President of the Congress, has been designated to coordinate discussions with the various parties within the INDIA bloc. Earlier this week, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and KC Venugopal met to strategize for the election.
