In Bhubaneswar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the first year of the Odisha government with the inauguration and groundbreaking of multiple development projects. The projects, valued at more than Rs 18,600 crore, focus on essential areas such as drinking water, irrigation, agricultural infrastructure, health infrastructure, rural roads, highways, and a new railway line. During his address, the Prime Minister celebrated June 20 as a milestone for good governance, acknowledging the efforts of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his team. He emphasized Odisha’s historical and cultural significance, framing the state as a vital element in India’s developmental journey. Modi also referenced the auspicious timing of the Rath Yatra preparations and the government’s actions regarding the Shree Mandir, including opening the temple gates and the Ratna Bhandar, as a reflection of respect for the devotees’ faith. He also noted his decision to decline the invitation of US President to visit USA as he was to visit the holy land of Lord Jagannatha on this day.
