In a shocking incident at Noida’s bustling Sector 18 market, a powerful explosion from an electricity transformer has left two young men with severe burns. The blast occurred near a multi-level parking lot under Sector 20 police jurisdiction on Friday, sending shockwaves through the crowded commercial hub.

Eyewitnesses described a deafening boom followed by flames erupting from the transformer. Vijay Kumar, a resident of Sector 44, and Harsh from Delhi’s Ashok Nagar, were in the vicinity when the tragedy struck. Both suffered critical injuries from the intense heat and flying debris.

Chaos ensued as panicked shoppers fled the scene. Local police from Sector 20 station rushed to the spot, swiftly transporting the victims to a nearby private hospital. Doctors report that one patient remains in critical condition in the ICU, battling life-threatening burns.

Firefighters quickly contained the blaze, preventing further damage. Preliminary investigations point to a possible technical fault or overloading as the cause, though authorities are conducting a thorough probe. The incident has heightened concerns over electrical infrastructure safety in high-traffic areas like Sector 18.

Residents are demanding immediate inspections of all transformers and stricter maintenance protocols. This tragedy underscores the urgent need for robust safety measures to protect the thousands who frequent this vital business district daily. Officials promise swift action to prevent recurrences.
