In a major breakthrough, Noida police have dismantled a notorious interstate vehicle theft syndicate operating across the National Capital Region. The Sector-49 police station team arrested three seasoned criminals and recovered 22 stolen motorcycles, two scooters, a fake number plate, and an illegal .32 bore pistol along with a live cartridge.

Acting on precise local intelligence and electronic surveillance, officers nabbed the suspects near the Sector-50 power station in Noida. Identified as Vishal alias Salim (23), Deepak (22), and Divakar Sarkar (30), the trio confessed to scouting prime locations in Noida, Delhi, and Ghaziabad before striking at vulnerable two-wheelers. Stolen bikes were stashed in secluded spots and later offloaded to unsuspecting buyers at throwaway prices.

Among the recovered vehicles, one motorcycle links directly to a case registered at Sector-20 police station under crime number 347/2025. Two others trace back to theft reports in Delhi’s Ashok Nagar and Pul Prahladpur stations. Investigators are now verifying the remaining bikes against unsolved cases.

Vishal alias Salim, the ringleader, boasts a rap sheet with 13 prior cases including Arms Act violations, thefts, and Gangster Act charges. Deepak faces multiple counts under theft, Arms Act, and NDPS Act. Divakar Sarkar also has a documented criminal history. Officials believe this gang fueled numerous thefts across states, with more revelations expected as probes deepen.

This operation underscores Noida’s commitment to curbing organized crime, restoring faith in law enforcement amid rising vehicle theft complaints in urban India.
