In a significant breakthrough, Noida Sector-39 police have dismantled a notorious gang specializing in stealing tyres and batteries from four-wheelers. Three suspects, including a dreaded history-sheeter, were nabbed in a targeted operation. The raid yielded six stolen tyre rims, two batteries, theft tools, illegal weapons, and the gang’s getaway Wagon R car.
The operation unfolded Thursday near Som Bazaar crossing in the Sector-39 jurisdiction. Identified as Vishal Sharma alias Dhola (28) from Sadarpur Sector-45, Vishal Tyagi alias Akku (26) from Gejha, and Upender Pathak (28) from Nabi Pur Khediya in Bulandshahr, the trio confessed to targeting parked cars in residential areas at night. They would strip tyres and batteries, then sell them in Delhi’s black market.
Recovered items included six tyre rims, two batteries, a heavy wire cutter, jack, two panes, the Wagon R, two illegal pistols from Dhola and Akku, and a knife from Pathak. A separate FIR was filed for the batteries.
Dhola, the prime accused, boasts over 21 cases ranging from robbery and attempted murder to theft, arms violations, NDPS, and excise laws. His accomplices also face multiple charges of assault, theft, and related offenses across stations.
‘This arrest will curb vehicle thefts in the area,’ stated police officials. Investigations continue into their network, buyers of stolen goods, and past crimes. Legal proceedings are underway, promising safer streets for Noida residents.
