Cyber police in Noida have apprehended Abhinav Tyagi, a former employee, in connection with a significant Goods and Services Tax (GST) fraud. The alleged scheme involved the creation of fraudulent invoices, amounting to about Rs 10 crore, to claim a false tax credit of Rs 1.8 crore. Tyagi, who resided in the Bisrakh area of Greater Noida, had worked in the accounts department, allowing him access to manipulate tax filings. The investigation indicates he likely acted with an associate, who remains at large. The police seized several mobile phones, SIM cards, a laptop, a car, GST documents, and a rent agreement from the accused. Following his arrest, Tyagi was presented before a court and subsequently incarcerated. Authorities are actively pursuing the accomplice.
