In a heartfelt tribute during his recent visit to Assam, BJP National President Nitin Nabin showered praise on the state’s tea garden laborers, attributing Assam’s worldwide recognition squarely to their unwavering dedication. Speaking from Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts on Thursday, Nabin delved into Assam’s rich spiritual legacy, cultural harmony, and the pivotal role these workers play in elevating the state’s global stature.
Nabin shared glimpses of his tour on social media platform X, recounting his visit to the sacred Namghar in Barekuri village, Tinsukia. He described it as a profound spiritual hub embodying the Moran community’s deep faith and cultural integration. ‘Barekuri exemplifies harmonious living with nature, where villagers coexist peacefully with wild animals,’ he noted, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ mentions of the village’s rare Hoolock Gibbons, locally called ‘Holo Bandor,’ who have made it their home alongside humans.
‘This quaint village beautifully illustrates how faith, culture, and nature can thrive together,’ Nabin reflected. Inside the Namghar, he offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and the nation’s continuous progress.
Later, in Dibrugarh’s Lakhinagar, Nabin enjoyed a traditional Assamese breakfast at Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s residence. The warm hospitality and culinary traditions left a lasting impression, he said.
Turning to Assam’s tea industry, Nabin highlighted its iconic sprawling green estates, famous globally, and the unique flavor and superior quality of Assam tea that commands international acclaim. ‘This global identity is the fruit of relentless hard work, devotion, and commitment from tea garden workers,’ he emphasized. ‘Their discipline has earned Assam tea its world-renowned status, a matter of eternal pride for the state.’
Nabin acknowledged their contributions as vital to bolstering Assam’s economy and cultural heritage. His visit reinforced the need to preserve the state’s cultural, ecological, and economic strengths while promoting inclusive development that balances tradition with sustainable growth.
