Gandhinagar marked a significant moment in Indian politics as Nitin Gadkari, the newly appointed national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), embarked on his first official visit to Gujarat. Arriving in the state, Gadkari headed straight to the revered Swaminarayan Akshardham temple, where he paid a courtesy visit to the highly venerated Mahant Swami Maharaj.
Accompanying him were prominent party figures, including Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma, national general secretary (organization) B.L. Santosh, and Gujarat BJP organization minister Ratnakarji. The meeting unfolded in an atmosphere brimming with warmth and devotion, as the delegation sought the spiritual leader’s blessings.

Earlier, upon landing in Ahmedabad, Gadkari received a rousing welcome from enthusiastic BJP workers and office-bearers. Addressing a gathering of party cadres on Friday, he praised Gujarat’s contributions to the nation, crediting its leadership for propelling India onto a fast track of development through resolute policies and determination.
‘I extend my heartfelt thanks to my Gujarat worker brothers for this affectionate welcome,’ Gadkari remarked. He also shared photos and videos on X, highlighting his interactions with young entrepreneurs in Gandhinagar. ‘Meeting young entrepreneurs was truly inspiring. Their vision, innovation, and commitment are fueling India’s developed journey under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership,’ he posted.
