Thousands of daily commuters between Noida and Greater Noida are set to get major relief with a new alternative route on the horizon. Construction of a bridge over the Hindon River connecting Knowledge Park III to Noida’s Sector 146-147 is progressing rapidly, along with approach roads on both sides.
This ambitious project promises to streamline travel between the two bustling cities while significantly reducing the traffic congestion at the notorious Pari Chowk intersection. Greater Noida Authority’s General Manager AK Singh conducted an on-site inspection of the bridge and the approach road leading into Greater Noida on Tuesday.
During the visit, Singh reviewed the construction progress and issued strict directives to officials and contractors to complete the work within the stipulated timeline. The approach road on the Greater Noida side stretches nearly one kilometer and is being built at a cost of approximately 25 crore rupees. About 50 percent of this roadwork is already complete, with the remaining targeted for finish in the next six months.
The bridge itself is being constructed under the supervision of Bridge Corporation, with officials estimating a similar six-month timeline for completion. The authority aims to synchronize the approach roads so the entire route can open to traffic immediately upon bridge readiness.
Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar has prioritized this project, emphasizing that the new corridor will not only shorten travel distances but also save precious time for commuters. It will particularly alleviate pressure on key bottlenecks like Pari Chowk, offering respite from chronic traffic jams.
Residents in Knowledge Park, Sectors 146-147, and surrounding areas stand to benefit the most. Local commuters express optimism that timely completion will usher in a safer, more efficient travel option, transforming their daily journeys.
