The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has officially released its ‘Sankalp Patra’ for Bihar, a detailed roadmap focusing on job creation, economic upliftment, and significant infrastructure upgrades. The central promise revolves around generating over one crore government jobs, aiming to provide ample opportunities for the state’s young population. Social justice is also a priority, with a commitment to provide Rs 10 lakh in financial aid to individuals belonging to the Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) and the establishment of a judicial commission for their betterment.
Economically, the manifesto champions industrial growth by planning 10 new industrial parks and advocating for factories in every district to create localized employment. The alliance aims to empower one crore women through the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative. Agricultural support includes an increased Kisan Samman Nidhi of Rs 9,000 annually and a guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops, bolstering farmer incomes.
For infrastructure, the NDA plans to upgrade airports in Patna, Darbhanga, Purnia, and Bhagalpur to international standards and to launch metro rail projects in Patna, Gaya, Purnia, and Bhagalpur. The education sector will receive a boost with residential schools for SC/ST students, monthly stipends for higher education pursuers, improved mid-day meals, and new medical colleges in every district. The manifesto also outlines extensive social welfare programs, including Rs 10 lakh aid for SC/EBCs, construction of 50 lakh homes, free electricity up to 125 units, and enhanced social security pensions.
