Gaya, March 2: Bihar Minister Santosh Suman expressed strong confidence on Saturday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure all five Rajya Sabha seats up for grabs from the state in the upcoming elections. Speaking to reporters in Gaya, Suman asserted that the coalition’s numerical strength in the state assembly guarantees victory across the board.

“We have the numbers, and all five seats will go to the NDA,” the minister declared emphatically. He added that decisions on which party workers or leaders will contest these seats would be finalized soon, keeping the alliance’s strategy intact.

As of now, neither the NDA nor the opposition Mahagathbandhan has announced its candidates. Speculation is rife that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), a key Mahagathbandhan partner, might field leader Tejashwi Yadav for one of the seats.

Shifting focus to international concerns, Suman highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proactive steps to evacuate Indians stranded amid the escalating Iran-Israel conflict. “Our government is deploying full diplomatic efforts and ongoing negotiations to ensure every citizen’s safe return. Indian aircraft will bring them home within two to four days,” he assured.

The minister described the rising tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States as deeply unfortunate. Drawing parallels to the successful Operation Ganga during the Russia-Ukraine war, Suman reiterated that India would replicate those efforts. “I appeal to all Bihar residents not to worry about their loved ones abroad; everyone will return safely,” he said.

On a celebratory note, Suman extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Bihar on the auspicious occasion of Holika Dahan. “This sacred festival symbolizes the triumph of good over evil, righteousness over unrighteousness, and truth over falsehood. May it bring joy, peace, prosperity, and positive energy to all,” he concluded.
