The NDA parliamentary party convened with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other key figures in attendance. Among the participants was CP Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s candidate for Vice President. During the meeting, the Prime Minister commented on the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, initiated by former Prime Minister Nehru. Modi claimed Nehru had previously divided the country, and repeated the action with the water agreement. He mentioned that a large percentage of water was allocated to Pakistan, and that Nehru later admitted the treaty’s failure. PM Modi described the agreement as unfavorable to farmers. Additionally, Modi introduced CP Radhakrishnan, the NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate, emphasizing his deep roots in the OBC community and highlighting their friendship. The Prime Minister also targeted the Congress, accusing them of hypocrisy regarding the constitution. He stated that Nehru had entered into the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan without the approval of the Cabinet. The Prime Minister affirmed his commitment to correcting Nehru’s errors and protecting the interests of the farmers.
