New Delhi erupted in political fervor during the ongoing budget session as NDA leaders unleashed a barrage of criticism against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Accusations flew thick and fast, with charges of baseless allegations, breaching parliamentary decorum, and disrupting crucial proceedings dominating the discourse.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan didn’t mince words, emphasizing the responsibilities that come with high office. ‘A person in such a serious position must uphold dignity and accountability,’ he stated, hinting at the possibility of invoking privilege motions against unfounded claims that lack substance.

Echoing similar sentiments, Union Minister BL Verma lambasted the opposition for prioritizing chaos over constructive debate. ‘This budget session is pivotal, yet opposition members show no regard for their own honor or that of the House,’ he told reporters, underscoring how disruptions marred what he described as a people-centric budget.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale went further, decrying Rahul Gandhi’s pattern of unsubstantiated statements. ‘Threatening the Speaker is unprecedented in India’s parliamentary history,’ he asserted, calling out the Congress leader for actions that stray far from acceptable norms.

JD(U) national executive president Sanjay Kumar Jha highlighted inconsistencies in opposition narratives, particularly around unverified book claims. ‘Rahul Gandhi acts as if laws don’t apply to him, holding the Lok Sabha hostage to his political theatrics,’ Jha remarked.

BJP MP Rekha Sharma accused Gandhi of routinely peddling falsehoods and name-dropping without evidence, questioning the very decision to elect him to Parliament. Fellow BJP MP Ravi Kishan warned that fact-less interventions poison democracy, reflecting opposition desperation.

BJP MP Shashank Mani pointed to instances where absent individuals were inexplicably targeted, drawing widespread objections. Rajasthan BJP chief and MP Madan Rathod labeled Gandhi’s foreign critiques of national leadership as anti-national, urging him to raise issues within the House during appropriate debates.

BJP MP Dinesh Sharma concluded that turning Parliament into an arena of indecorous language leaves little choice but to enforce rules safeguarding traditions. As the session progresses, this escalating confrontation signals deeper rifts in India’s political landscape, with implications for future legislative harmony.
