Patna, January 30: Bihar’s Minister Dilip Jaiswal inaugurated the Mahila Pankh Haat event here on Friday, underscoring the NDA government’s unwavering dedication to fostering women’s entrepreneurship across all fronts. The vibrant fair, now in its fifth edition, brought together women entrepreneurs from the Bhumihar Mahila Samaj, showcasing their innovative products and hard work.
Joined by fellow minister Ashok Chaudhary and Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, Jaiswal addressed the gathering, highlighting how such platforms empower women by linking their handmade goods to markets and promoting self-reliance. ‘This is a crucial step towards making women economically independent,’ he stated, emphasizing the role of these initiatives in recognizing women’s talent and contributing to Bihar’s overall economic strength.
In an exclusive conversation, Jaiswal praised the event as a model for self-employment generation. ‘Through Pankh Haat, we witness real empowerment—women turning their skills into sustainable businesses,’ he added. The fair not only provides visibility but also opens doors for sales and networking, crucial for budding entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, Minister Chaudhary sharply criticized former Vice President Hamid Ansari’s controversial remark labeling Ghazni and Lodi as ‘Indian looters.’ ‘If NCERT books taught that, why didn’t he correct them during his tenure?’ Chaudhary questioned, pointing out the inconsistency in historical narratives pushed by past governments.
On the legislative front, Speaker Prem Kumar announced that the Bihar Assembly’s budget session will commence on February 2 and run until February 27. The all-party meeting today ensured smooth preparations, including the governor’s address and budget presentation, setting the stage for productive debates.
