The auspicious festival of Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Maa Shakti, begins today. The new GST rates have been enacted across India, effective from today. This will lead to a decrease in prices for several items. The nation will transition to two tax slabs: 5% and 18%. A 40% tax will be imposed on items such as alcohol and tobacco. Prior to the implementation of the revised GST rates, Prime Minister Modi addressed the nation on Sunday, emphasizing GST reforms and promoting indigenous products. He announced that under the new rates, 99% of products will be subject to a 5% tax only. The BJP will initiate a nationwide GST savings campaign from September 22 to September 29. All BJP Members of Parliament will conduct foot marches in their respective constituencies. The Prime Minister is also set to visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura today.
