New Delhi: In a sharp critique following Pakistan’s crushing defeat to India in the T20 World Cup, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi delivered a stinging rebuke. ‘This nation doesn’t believe in any other games; they’re only experts at playing the game of terrorism,’ Naqvi remarked during an interview with IANS.
Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s consistent losses across all fronts against India, whether on the cricket pitch or international stages. ‘Wherever they face India, they taste defeat. They’re fixated on terrorism, which is why they face humiliation everywhere. How can they focus on sports when their minds are elsewhere?’
Shifting gears, Naqvi addressed controversies surrounding new guidelines for the national song ‘Vande Mataram.’ He dismissed critics as dishonest, stating, ‘If your faith wavers at singing or standing for the national song, you’re the biggest hypocrite. Vande Mataram embodies India’s nationalist spirit.’
On the Tipu Sultan debate, Naqvi targeted Congress leader Harshavardhan Sapkal, accusing him of mental distress post-election loss. ‘A large section of the country despises Tipu Sultan, yet they’re comparing him to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.’
Commenting on Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge’s remarks, Naqvi contrasted BJP’s tireless nation-building with opposition’s despair. ‘Let them wallow in sorrow while we work.’
Naqvi also backed the Election Commission’s actions in West Bengal, criticizing the state’s crumbling law and order. ‘Criminal attacks sponsored by the government show TMC’s disconnect from constitutional duties, prioritizing communal chaos. Their exit is imminent.’
Supporting Home Minister Amit Shah’s attack on Rahul Gandhi, Naqvi accused him of spreading lies and misleading farmers, a pattern of sowing confusion on national issues.
