The Bombay High Court has supported the closure of pigeon feeding sites in Mumbai’s Dadar area. The decision was made considering the health concerns of the residents. A medical team has been appointed to investigate the matter further and a decision will be made after their report is submitted. The ban on feeding pigeons will continue until then. The issue has gained significant attention across the state, with the Jain community expressing strong opposition to the BMC’s initial decision to close the sites. The Jain community organized a protest on August 4th. The court has maintained that public health is a priority. The court also clarified that those who disagree with the decision have the right to appeal it through legal means.
