Mumbai is witnessing widespread demonstrations sparked by the escalating tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran. Protesters have taken to the streets in various parts of the city, prompting authorities to heighten security around the embassies of all three nations. Mumbai Police have issued a high alert, directing all personnel to remain vigilant amid fears of potential unrest.

The demonstrations come in the wake of reports claiming the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a US-Israel strike. Iran has declared a 40-day mourning period, intensifying global concerns. Police warnings emphasize that rallies supporting or opposing Iran could be exploited for riots or arson, necessitating extra caution.

In India, reactions have poured in from across the spectrum. Prominent Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad accused world powers of deception, drawing parallels to the Iraq invasion where false claims of weapons of mass destruction led to devastation without evidence. He dismissed allegations against Iran’s nuclear program as similar fabrications.

Samajwadi Party senior leader Abu Azmi condemned the killing of the 86-year-old leader and his family as a grave crime. Speaking to media in Mumbai, he questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent Israel visit involved discussions on the brewing conflict. Azmi urged the central government to intervene diplomatically to halt the violence, warning of severe repercussions for India’s interests due to the Iran crisis.

As tensions simmer, Mumbai’s law enforcement is on high alert, monitoring gatherings closely to prevent any escalation into chaos. The international standoff continues to reverberate locally, highlighting the interconnectedness of global conflicts.
