A significant fraud case has been cracked by the Chikkamagaluru police in Karnataka, leading to the arrest of two individuals from Telangana. The suspects are implicated in a multi-crore scam that involved the creation of fraudulent websites imitating popular temples like Sringeri and Annapoorneshwari. The investigation revealed that the scammers lured devotees with false promises of special pujas and offerings. The police responded to a series of complaints about the deceptive practices, resulting in the arrest of the two suspects. The individuals, identified as Sudeep and Anil Kumar from Telangana, used the fake website www.Devaseva.com to carry out their fraudulent activities. The police are actively investigating the extent of the operation, seeking to identify other individuals involved and trace the financial transactions. Furthermore, the police have issued a warning to the public, urging them to be cautious and to obtain official confirmation from the temples before engaging in online financial transactions related to religious activities.
