Bhopal, February 9 – Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla issued a stern warning to officials during a high-level meeting, declaring that negligence in the development of Gudh Industrial Area in Rewa district will not be tolerated. The ambitious projects in the area have been progressing at a snail’s pace, prompting sharp criticism from the senior leader.
In a detailed review session held at the state secretariat on Monday, Shukla scrutinized the ongoing works, particularly focusing on the crucial water supply scheme budgeted at Rs 16 crore. Shockingly, only Rs 7 crore worth of work has been completed so far. This vital project aims to deliver 5 MLD of water to the municipal council and another 5 MLD to the industrial zone, promising a robust upgrade to local water infrastructure.
‘For any industrial hub to thrive, essential services like power, water, roads, and drainage must be rock-solid,’ Shukla emphasized. He directed authorities to accord top priority to accelerating all development initiatives, ensuring immediate action on expanding electricity, roadways, water supply, and other necessities.
The Deputy CM mandated regular monitoring by senior officials, making it clear that any lapses would invite strict action. Gudh Industrial Area’s comprehensive growth, he noted, will not only bolster Rewa’s industrial profile but also unlock thousands of job opportunities for local youth through direct and indirect employment in upcoming industries.
Shukla urged seamless coordination among departments, including the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC). The meeting saw participation from MPIDC Managing Director Chandramouli Shukla and other top bureaucrats, underscoring the government’s commitment to industrial progress in the region.
