Bhopal’s political landscape is buzzing with commitment to agriculture as Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared on Wednesday that empowering farmers remains the Madhya Pradesh government’s utmost priority. In a detailed statement, Yadav emphasized the administration’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding farmers’ interests and boosting their incomes through proactive measures.
The CM highlighted the state’s resolve to ensure farmers receive full and timely payment for their produce without any hurdles. This farmer-centric approach was exemplified in the Kharif season 2025-26, where over 51.74 million metric tons of paddy was procured—a testament to the success of MP’s agricultural policies.
To streamline payments, a technology-driven system has been implemented, directly crediting Minimum Support Price (MSP) into farmers’ bank accounts. For common paddy this season, MSP stands at Rs 2,369 per quintal, marking a Rs 69 increase from the previous year’s Rs 2,300 per quintal.
Yadav described this MSP hike as a concrete step towards fair pricing. In the last season, 669,272 farmers supplied 43.2 million metric tons through 1,436 procurement centers. This year, 5,174,792 metric tons were bought, with over 4.83 million metric tons transported and 4.63 million metric tons quality-approved.
The total MSP value for this procurement is estimated at Rs 12,259 crore, with nearly Rs 11,000 crore already transferred to farmers. This financial boost equips them to prepare confidently for the next cropping cycle.
Continuous monitoring ensures a seamless process, allowing farmers to reap full benefits of government schemes promptly. As MP pushes forward, Yadav’s vision positions agriculture as the cornerstone of the state’s prosperity, promising sustained growth and stability for millions of farming families.
