In a landmark move for women’s empowerment in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday transferred monthly aid directly into the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore beneficiaries under the flagship Ladli Behna Yojana. The event unfolded in Pandhana, Khargone district, where the CM initiated the transfer with a single click, boosting the monthly payout from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per woman.
This financial infusion not only underscores the state government’s commitment to female upliftment but also sets a new benchmark in direct benefit transfers. During the grand ceremony, Yadav inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 608 crore, signaling a multi-pronged approach to regional growth.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the Chief Minister reflected on the scheme’s evolution since its launch in 2023 with Rs 1,000 monthly aid. ‘When money reaches our sisters’ hands, it becomes the foundation of family prosperity,’ he stated, emphasizing the ripple effect on households. He urged women to cast their votes thoughtfully, calling election day the ultimate democratic accountability moment.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership, Madhya Pradesh is scaling new heights, Yadav asserted. The government’s ambition is clear: transform every Ladli Behna into a ‘Lakhpati Didi’ – self-reliant entrepreneurs driving economic progress.
Yadav highlighted key initiatives like Rs 55,000 assistance per couple for mass Kanyadan ceremonies, recognizing the sanctity of marrying a poor daughter as the greatest virtue among 16 sacraments. Agricultural reforms aim to double farmers’ incomes through multi-cropping and ensuring every irrigation drop reaches fields.
‘Preserve your ancestral lands; the future belongs to Nimar and Madhya Pradesh,’ he exhorted locals. Announcing rail connectivity from Omkareshwar to Indore, he promised a transformation in the region’s landscape. Further, approvals for Sukta micro-irrigation projects, Rs 1 lakh aid for 25-cow dairies, onion processing units under One District One Product, Rs 252 crore Khargone sewerage scheme, and Rs 353 crore in other projects were unveiled, painting a picture of holistic development.
