Bhopal, March 2: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extended warm Holi greetings to the state’s residents on Monday, emphasizing celebration with responsibility. Amid the festive fervor, he reminded everyone to prioritize safety, law and order, and the ongoing school examinations for young students.

Speaking to the media in Barwani, Yadav highlighted the importance of balancing joy with duty. ‘Holi will be celebrated with happiness and enthusiasm, but school exams are underway across the state. This concerns our children’s future, so we must keep these aspects in mind while reveling,’ he stated.

The Class 10 and 12 board exams, which kicked off on February 13, are set to conclude on March 6. Yadav’s message underscores the need for mindful festivities to avoid disruptions.

Later, the Chief Minister joined the vibrant Bhagoria festival, a tribal tradition marking the onset of Holi in districts like Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargone, Barwani, and Dhar. This seven-day event, culminating on Monday, heralds spring and draws tourists from India and abroad with its colorful customs and matchmaking festivities.

On Sunday night, Yadav chaired a high-level meeting with DGP Kailash Makwana, ADG Intelligence A. Sai Manohar, and other senior police officials via video conference. Range IGs, DIGs, police commissioners, and SPs reported on security arrangements for Holi.

Directing strict vigilance, the CM instructed officers to monitor all potential incidents closely. ‘Maintain alertness during the festival. Ensure swift response to any untoward event. Even minor issues must be resolved immediately,’ he said. He mandated rigorous enforcement of ‘dry day’ rules prohibiting alcohol sales.

Yadav announced surprise inspections of police stations, with grading based on performance and public feedback. Transparency in law enforcement was stressed, alongside heightened security at exam centers and hostels.

His proactive stance aims to ensure a safe, joyous Holi while safeguarding students’ academic futures and public safety across Madhya Pradesh.
