Bhopal, February 12: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav issued a strong directive to all stakeholders involved in the state’s development, emphasizing that no compromises will be tolerated on the quality of construction works. Speaking at a one-day capacity-building workshop and training program organized by the Madhya Pradesh Building Development Corporation under the Public Works Department at Ravindra Bhavan in the capital, Yadav highlighted the need for full commitment from everyone.

‘Construction is not merely about assembling bricks and stones; it is an innovative art form,’ the Chief Minister asserted. He stressed the importance of adopting a long-term vision with an excellent perspective, ensuring that every project aligns with contemporary needs through consensus and qualitative approaches. ‘We must all work with complete capacity and efficiency for the state’s progress, without any shortcuts on quality at any level,’ he added.

Yadav underscored the necessity of skill enhancement to avoid ideological rigidity and outdated work styles. ‘Such workshops refresh engineers’ skills and infuse them with new energy, keeping pace with evolving technologies,’ he noted. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the PM Gati Shakti initiative is bringing innovations to life through the Public Works Department, he said, praising state engineers as modern embodiments of Lord Vishwakarma.

The department has carved a niche with major infrastructure projects like the Sandipani School, roads, bridges, stadiums, and buildings over the past two years, despite numerous challenges faced by engineers. Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh described the event as a milestone in the department’s journey of continuous improvement, featuring new thinking, systems, and high standards.

Key highlights included the release of a training calendar and project management manual, the launch of the PMS Portal 2.0 digital management system via presentation, and MoUs signed with prestigious institutions such as the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) New Delhi, Indian Academy of Highway Engineers (IAHE) New Delhi, Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) Hyderabad, IIT Mumbai, and the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Bhopal through MP Road Development Corporation and MP Building Development Corporation.

This initiative signals Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to world-class infrastructure, promising accelerated development and enhanced public services across the state.
