Bhopal witnessed a vibrant start to Holi celebrations as Chief Minister Mohan Yadav led the traditional Holika Dahan ceremony right at his official residence. On Monday evening, the air filled with Vedic chants as the CM, accompanied by his wife Seema Yadav, performed the sacred rituals with full devotion. Cow dung wood was specially used in the bonfire, symbolizing purity and tradition.

Joining the family were close relatives and Ashok Kadel, Director of the Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy. The event wasn’t just a private affair; CM Yadav extended Holi greetings to all staff, officials, and security personnel at the residence office, personally distributing gujiya as prasad. His message resonated far beyond the residence, urging the people of Madhya Pradesh to embrace unity and love during the festival.

‘Holi is the festival that drenches us in colors and teaches us to stay united,’ Yadav said. He called on everyone to set aside differences and celebrate from Holika Dahan to Rangpanchami with pure affection. Meanwhile, Governor Mangubhai Patel echoed similar sentiments in his message, describing Holi as a celebration of love, brotherhood, and social harmony.

Patel emphasized how the festival infuses new energy and positivity into lives, bringing joy, peace, and prosperity. He highlighted Holi’s role in strengthening relationships, discarding envy and bitterness, and fostering unity in the diverse state. In a special appeal, the Governor urged citizens to celebrate peacefully, safely, and eco-friendly, respecting each other’s feelings while upholding the festival’s glorious traditions.

Across Madhya Pradesh, similar Holika Dahan events lit up communities, marking the triumph of good over evil. As colors prepare to fly tomorrow, the state’s leaders have set a tone of inclusivity and festivity, ensuring Holi 2024 remains memorable for all.
