The Monsoon Session of Parliament has concluded, marked by low productivity, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the situation. The Prime Minister, according to sources, voiced his concern over the frequent disruptions that occurred in both houses. He also made a veiled attack on the Congress leadership, alleging they were stifling opportunities for younger MPs out of ‘insecurity.’ This occurred during a tea meeting at the Lok Sabha Speaker’s office. During the session, which commenced on July 21st, 15 bills were passed. However, the opposition’s protests, particularly regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, caused significant disruptions, leading to several bills being passed without sufficient debate. The session, consisting of 21 sittings across 32 days, ended a day earlier than scheduled. The session included discussions on Operation Sindoor and the space program, which were interrupted by opposition members.
