The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for the Delhi-NCR region, encompassing Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, as a result of relentless monsoon rains impacting North India. The weather outlook for Delhi highlights the possibility of heavy rain. The first week of September brought an unexpected shift for students across various states. The heavy monsoon rains led to the closure of schools, providing students with a longer break from their regular studies. Continuous rainfall has been occurring in Delhi since Monday morning. By 12 PM, the water level of the Yamuna River at the Old Railway Bridge (ORB) had reached 204.87 meters, which is very close to the danger mark of 205.33 meters. Authorities have cautioned that the river level may surpass 206 meters by Tuesday evening, which is considered a critical level. Precautionary measures are in place in low-lying areas.
