Thursday marked the 75th birthday of Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Bhagwat has been at the helm of the RSS for the past 16 years, providing leadership and guidance. Born in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra on September 11, 1950, he holds the position of the third longest-serving Sarsanghchalak in RSS history. Bhagwat’s association with the RSS began as a pracharak about five decades ago, eventually leading to his appointment as Sarsanghchalak in March 2009. His father, Madhukarrao Bhagwat, was a prominent pracharak within the RSS.
