New Delhi buzzes with anticipation as the film ‘Shatak’, marking the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), garners praise from RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Speaking at an event in Keshav Kunj, Bhagwat described the movie not just as entertainment, but as a vivid portrayal of ideological journey embodied by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of RSS.

Bhagwat delved into Hedgewar’s life, highlighting his unwavering dedication to nation-building and social awakening. ‘Dr. Hedgewar lived a life of sacrifice, discipline, and unyielding commitment to national unity,’ he emphasized. The film captures key inspirational moments from his journey, including a poignant childhood incident depicted in one of its songs that shaped his resolute character.

The RSS leader extended congratulations to the cast, crew, and producers for bringing this story to life. ‘Shatak’ is set for nationwide release on February 20, coinciding with RSS’s 100-year milestone. Earlier, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged the public to watch the film, calling it a window into RSS’s true ethos of selfless service.

In a video message shared on the film’s Instagram, Gadkari shared his perspective as a former swayamsevak. He addressed misconceptions about the organization, stressing that RSS’s reality lies in its grassroots contributions—from tribal welfare and education initiatives to strengthening cooperatives and fostering social awareness. ‘Millions of volunteers have served without expectation, and this film helps convey that truth,’ he said.

As India reflects on its organizational legacies, ‘Shatak’ promises to educate and inspire audiences about a pivotal figure in modern history. The film’s release could spark wider discussions on national service and unity in today’s polarized discourse.
