Tensions escalating in the Middle East have thrown Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport into chaos. Travelers heading to sacred sites like Mecca and Medina are facing canceled flights and endless delays, leaving thousands stranded.

A pilgrim shared his frustration, noting that while one Saudi carrier remains operational, flights from Indian and other international airlines are severely hit. ‘The conflict has made our Umrah journey perilous,’ he said, highlighting the sudden shift from normalcy.

One family, eagerly awaiting their departure for Saudi Arabia, stood patiently amid the turmoil. The father explained, ‘We applied months ago when everything was calm. Now, despite the risks, our turn has come, and faith compels us to proceed.’

Amid the disruptions, praise poured in for Saudi Airlines. A female passenger commended, ‘Their flights are running smoothly without a single cancellation. They’ve truly supported Hajj and Umrah pilgrims through this crisis.’

Fear lingers, yet spirituality prevails. Another traveler admitted a touch of anxiety but affirmed, ‘God protects us. We must trust in divine presence during these trying times.’

The passing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has added a layer of sorrow. A devotee mourned, ‘He was Islam’s steadfast guardian, unyielding till the end. His courage inspires us to bow only before Allah, no matter the odds.’

Airport authorities urge passengers to check updates frequently as the situation remains fluid. This crisis underscores the global ripple effects of regional conflicts on air travel and pilgrimage routes.
