Sonam Raghuvanshi, the woman arrested in connection with the murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, has denied any responsibility for the crime. She was apprehended in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, she claims she was kidnapped and had no part in her husband’s death. Her family is standing by her, with her father asserting her innocence and stating their marriage was consensual.

Police in Meghalaya have alleged that Sonam planned the murder in Sohra. Raja Raghuvanshi was reportedly killed by individuals hired by her. She later went missing and was located in Ghazipur. Three alleged accomplices were arrested: Raj Singh Kushwaha, Akash Rajput, and Vishal Singh Chauhan. Police in East Khasi Hills have shared details of the arrests. Sonam is now in custody, and authorities are working to bring her to Meghalaya. The three arrested men have been sent to Meghalaya on transit remand. Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was discovered near Weisawdong Falls, 10 days after he disappeared. The couple married on May 11 in Indore and traveled to Meghalaya. They went missing on May 23 after leaving a homestay. Evidence found at the scene included a white shirt, medicine strips, a phone screen fragment, and a smartwatch.
