In the wake of the tragic murder of Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, his mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, is demanding justice and the maximum penalty for the perpetrators. She stated, ‘I want justice for my son. The accused should be hanged.’ She believes more individuals were involved in the crime. Uma described the family’s happiness welcoming Sonam, Raja’s wife, into the family, without focusing on her past. The last conversation with them was on May 23, without any indication of the impending tragedy. Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, alleges that Sonam’s surrender was staged and that more than five individuals were part of the crime. Four suspects, including Anand, are currently in transit remand as the Meghalaya Police pursue their investigation. Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kushwaha are considered the prime suspects. The post-mortem revealed two head injuries. Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong confirmed the arrest of four individuals, while authorities seek another suspect. Sonam turned herself in, and all the arrested individuals will be brought to Shillong for further questioning.
