The public’s attention was drawn to Vishakha Yadav, an IAS officer, following her welcoming of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Arunachal Pradesh visit on September 22nd. The photos of Yadav greeting the Prime Minister in the Papum Pare district quickly spread across social media platforms. Yadav, who serves as the District Collector of Papum Pare, is an AGMUT cadre IAS officer. She took to X to express her honor at the opportunity. Before her career in civil service, Yadav, a Delhi native, pursued a career as an engineer. She earned a degree from Delhi Technological University (DTU) and worked at Cisco in Bengaluru. She then decided to pursue her dream of becoming an IAS officer, choosing to prepare for the UPSC exam independently. Yadav succeeded in the civil services exam on her third try, securing the sixth rank. She was previously recognized with the PM’s Award 2024 for her work on ‘DigiKaksha,’ an initiative focused on digital transformation in education and governance within the northeastern state.
