    Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, extended her greetings on Hindi Diwas to the residents of the state and the wider nation, acknowledging the significance of the day. She expressed her respect for all languages and offered her best wishes to all Hindi speakers. Banerjee highlighted the efforts of her government in supporting Hindi and other languages. She emphasized the official status granted to Hindi in regions with a Hindi-speaking population exceeding 10 percent. Other languages, including Santhali, Kurukh, Kurmali, Nepali, Urdu, Rajbanshi, Kamtapuri, Odia, Punjabi, and Telugu, have also been recognized. The state government is actively working to promote Sadri. In the educational sector, the government has taken multiple steps to bolster Hindi education. A Hindi university has been established in Howrah, and Hindi-medium degree colleges have been set up in Banarhat and Naxalbari. Colleges now offer postgraduate courses in Hindi, and higher secondary exam papers are accessible in Hindi. Furthermore, students of Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya have the option to take exams in Hindi. The government has initiated free social security schemes for Hindi-speaking individuals in the unorganized sector, improved infrastructure for the Gangasagar Mela, and announced a two-day holiday for Chhath Puja.
