THANE: A 36-year-old married guy from Bhayandar in Thane district of Maharashtra used to be pressured to pay the ransom of over Rs 6 lakh after he used to be held captive by means of a lady, who had befriended him via a ‘courting’ app, and her friends, police stated on Monday.
An FIR used to be registered on the Shree Nagar police station on fees of extortion, theft and different sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) after the sufferer approached the police this morning, however no arrest is made so.
An officer stated the sufferer, who manufactures and sells furnishings, had are available in touch with a lady remaining July via a ‘courting carrier’ app- ‘Quack Quack’.
The girl invited him to Thane town and when he arrived on the scheduled location within the Shree Nagar house, she took him to her space, the officer stated quoting the FIR.
“The person used to be held captive in her space by means of the girl and different accused-one of them a woman- who thrashed him and demanded Rs 10 lakh for freeing him.
They threatened the sufferer to defame him if he fails to pay up.
They snatched bank cards of the sufferer and his spouse and withdrew Rs 6,32,100 earlier than permitting him to head,” the officer stated, including that additional investigation is underway.
