Mahabalipuram Hosts Meeting for Karur Stampede Victims’ Kin

In a significant show of solidarity, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) leader and prominent actor Vijay met with the families affected by the fatal Karur stampede. The meeting took place on Monday at a Mahabalipuram hotel in Tamil Nadu, providing a platform for victims’ relatives to connect with the party chief. The stampede, which claimed 41 lives on September 27 during a TVK organized event in Karur, has cast a dark shadow. The party had earlier transferred Rs. 20 lakh to the victims’ families as immediate relief. Vijay expressed his commitment to the affected families, vowing to provide ongoing comfort and assistance. “We will stand with you in every possible way, offering comfort and support,” he stated. Meanwhile, a CBI investigation, mandated by the Supreme Court, is underway in Karur, led by IPS officer Praveen Kumar, to ascertain the full details of the tragic event.
