Umaria. A young man died due to drowning in the pond during Durga idol immersion. The statue was taken to the village’s pond to flush water, during which this accident occurred. The name of the young man is Chhotu Patel, who was a resident of Sejwahi. The people of the village had gone to immerse the idol in water, Chhotu was also with them. Chhotu Patel drowned due to a pothole in the pond, due to which he died.

All the Durga committees of Naurozabad city gathered with the idols of Maa Durga for the immersion ceremony at Ram Leela Maidan. The historical moving ceremony of the idols of Maa Durga started at 4 pm from Ram Leela Maidan of the city. The immersion procession started from Ramlila Maidan and passed through various routes of the city like Peepal Chowk, Bus Stand, Number Five, Indira Chowk, Mundi Kholi, Bazarpura, in the immersion pond built by the Municipal Council on the banks of Johila river. During the moving ceremony, all the devotees were seen dancing to the beats of DJ and band. Municipal Council’s Chief Municipal Officer Jyoti Singh, Naurozabad Municipal Inspector Rajesh Chandra Mishra, Tehsildar Abhay Nand Sharma and administrative staff were present in the walking ceremony.
