Highlights
The rain may stop for a few days. Rain will start again in the state from August 4. The state received 7% more rainfall than normal.
Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal: The monsoon trough is currently passing through Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The upper air cyclone formed over Jharkhand has also moved to the Gangetic region of West Bengal. Currently, no effective weather system is active in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, there is no possibility of good rainfall in Madhya Pradesh for a few days.
According to meteorologists, there is a possibility of the cyclone formed in the Gangetic region of West Bengal turning into a low pressure area again and moving towards Madhya Pradesh via Odisha. Due to its effect, a period of rain may start again in Madhya Pradesh from August 4.
Seven percent more in the state
In this season, from June 1 to 8:30 am on July 31, Madhya Pradesh has received a total of 480 mm rainfall. This is seven percent more than the normal rainfall (448.4 mm).
During this period, 491.8 mm rainfall has occurred in eastern Madhya Pradesh, which is equal to the normal rainfall (491.1). Similarly, a total of 471.6 mm rainfall has occurred in western Madhya Pradesh. This is 14 percent more than the normal rainfall (415.5 mm).
Cyclone formed over Arabian Sea
According to the information received from the Meteorological Center, currently the monsoon trough is going to the Bay of Bengal via Ganganagar, Hisar, Delhi, Hardoi, Dehri, Purulia, Sagar Island. The cyclone formed in the upper part of the air in Jharkhand has also weakened.
An offshore trough has formed from South Gujarat to North Kerala. A shear zone of opposite winds has formed over Maharashtra. A cyclone has also formed over Saurashtra and the adjoining Arabian Sea.
Decrease in rainfall activity
Former senior meteorologist of Meteorological Centre, Ajay Shukla said that the monsoon trough has now left the state. The cyclone formed over Jharkhand has also moved to the Gangetic region of West Bengal. Due to this, there is a possibility of reduction in rainfall activities in the state for the time being.
However, there is a lot of moisture in the atmosphere. Due to this, there may be thundershowers at some places due to the increase in temperature. On the other hand, the cyclone that reached West Bengal will turn into a low pressure area and become active once again, due to which the series of rains may start again in the state around August 4.
