Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal: The low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal has reached around southern Chhattisgarh. The monsoon trough is also passing through Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, rain has started in most of the districts of the state. According to meteorologists, intermittent rain may continue for two to three days in the districts of Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Indore and Ujjain divisions. Light rain may occur in the districts of Rewa and Shahdol divisions.

According to the information received from the Meteorological Center, the depression area is currently over southern Chhattisgarh and the adjoining Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The monsoon trough is formed from Sri Ganganagar, Guna, Mandla through the depression area to the Bay of Bengal.
A cyclone is formed in the upper part of the air over northern Haryana. A western disturbance is present around Pakistan. A shear zone of winds of opposite directions is formed around Maharashtra.
Former senior meteorologist of Meteorological Centre, Ajay Shukla said that due to the effect of the low pressure area, rain has started in most of the districts of the state. The low pressure area is expected to weaken a bit and turn into a deep low pressure area after reaching Vidarbha on Monday.

Due to the effect of this weather system, intermittent rain may continue for two to three days in the districts of Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Indore, Ujjain division. During this period, heavy rain may also occur at some places. There are chances of light rain in the remaining areas as well. There are indications of another weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal on August 5. Due to this, the rainy season will continue for now.

On Sunday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Ujjain received 26 mm rainfall, Bhopal 24 mm, Chhindwara 19 mm, Narmadapuram 16 mm, Indore 15 mm, Jabalpur 13 mm, Khargone 6 mm, Betul, Pachmarhi and Seoni 3 mm, Guna and Raisen 2 mm and Shivpuri received 1 mm rainfall.
