Vijaypur by-election will create political balance between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Narendra Singh Tomar.

Tomar is busy increasing his stature through BJP candidate Ramniwas Rawat.

HighLights

Balance in the supremacy of Scindia-Tomar in Gwalior-Chambal. Due to the presence of Ramnivas Rawat, Tomar is strong again. Scindia is less active in the by-elections, command is in the hands of Tomar.

State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. Senior BJP leader and Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar once had unilateral dominance in the Gwalior-Chambal region, but ever since Jyotiraditya Scindia has joined the party with his supporters, his stature has been affected. If we look at the Dr. Mohan Yadav government itself, except Adal Singh Kanshana, most of the ministers are Jyotiraditya supporters.

This is the reason why Narendra Singh Tomar brought Ramniwas Rawat, who was the working president of Congress before the Lok Sabha elections, into BJP and made him a minister. Due to this, Jyotiraditya Scindia’s weight has reduced to some extent. Now, with the support of Ramnivas Rawat, Narendra Singh Tomar has once again succeeded in becoming a big leader of BJP in the politics of Gwalior-Chambal. This is the reason why Jyotiraditya Scindia is paying less attention to Vijaypur by-election.

Ramnivas was close to Scindia

Ramniwas Rawat was close to Jyotiraditya while in Congress, but in the year 2020, when Jyotiraditya left Congress along with his supporters, six-time MLA Ramniwas Rawat was the only big leader in the region who remained with the party. The relationship between both of them was affected.

The upper hand was heavy in 2020

In fact, since the year 2020, there is a situation of imbalance in the politics of Gwalior-Chambal. At that time, the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had become so many ministers from this region in the cabinet that the representation in the entire state had deteriorated. Those who joined BJP along with Jyotiraditya Scindia at that time included Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Imarti Devi, OPS Bhadauria, Suresh Rathkheda, Mahendra Singh Sisodia, Brijendra Singh Yadav and Girraj Dandotiya.

Two ministers Imarti Devi and Girraj Dandotiya lost the by-election. From that time onwards, the importance of Jyotiraditya Scindia had increased in the politics of Madhya Pradesh. Narendra Singh Tomar, who was active in central politics, was also made to contest in the 2023 assembly elections. He was made the Speaker of the Assembly.

Now once again the upper hand is gaining ground

Even when Dr. Mohan Yadav became the Chief Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia had more supporters in his cabinet. In this respect, Narendra Singh Tomar was left alone in the politics of Chambal. It is said that only Edal Singh Kanshana was with him. This is the reason why Narendra Singh Tomar’s efforts bore fruit during the Lok Sabha elections and he brought Ramniwas Rawat from Congress to BJP.

Party leaders are believing that if Ramniwas Rawat wins the election, Narendra Singh Tomar’s weight will increase. This is the reason why Narendra Singh Tomar is also handling the sources for the by-election.
