Case of skeleton found in Maholi forest. Two accused were already arrested. They were produced in court again after completion of remand period.
Navdunia representative, Bhopal. On the morning of 9th August, Chhola Mandir police recovered the skeleton of farmer Suraj Raikwar who was missing for 12 days from the jungle of Maholi. He was a farmer. On 10th August, police arrested two accused on the charge of murder, while two accused were absconding.
The police arrested the absconding accused on Monday and produced them in the court and took them on one-day remand. The knives used in the murder have been recovered from them. On Tuesday, after the completion of the remand period, they were produced again in the court. From there, both were sent to jail.
Chola Mandir police station in-charge Sureshchandra Raikwar said that 45-year-old Suraj Raikwar, a resident of Khejra, was a farmer. Suraj had gone missing since the night of July 28. On July 29, his wife Santoshi Bai had lodged a missing report of her husband.
On the morning of 9th August, a skeleton was found in the forest of Maholi. On the basis of the clothes found on the body and the slippers lying nearby, the relatives identified the deceased as Suraj Raikwar. In this case, on the basis of the statements of the relatives and CCTV footage, the police detained the suspects Nitesh Chuttilal Panthi and Chunnilal, residents of Khejra, and interrogated them.
Nitesh confessed to killing Suraj along with Chunnilal Raikwar, Prashant and Sandeep Ahirwar. Prashant and Sandeep Ahirwar were absconding since the incident. Both were arrested by the police team from Raisen on Monday. They were taken on one-day police remand for interrogation. They were produced in court on Tuesday. From there, both were sent to jail.
