The incident took place in Mandsaur’s orphanage Apna Ghar. The girls who ran away are between 15 and 17 years old. One girl is from Neemuch and the other is from Neemuch Cantt.
Naiduniya representative, Mandsaur. Two girls living in Mandsaur’s destitute girls home ‘Apna Ghar’ have been absconding since July 20. The police is busy searching for them. These two girls were sent here by the child welfare committee. Meanwhile, in the CCTV footage installed in Apna Ghar, both the girls are seen going with four youths who came on two bikes. The police is now busy searching for the girls on the basis of the bike number.
Separate teams have been formed to search for the girls as well as the accused. The police team is also scanning the CCTV cameras installed around their house and on the possible routes of the girls’ escape. According to the police, the age of both the girls is between 15 and 17 years. One is from Kapasan district Chittorgarh (Rajasthan). The other girl is from Neemuch Cantt. Both were living in their house for one and a half months.
On 20th July around 6 am both of them escaped by jumping from the net in Apna Ghar premises. Apna Ghar founder Rao Vijay Singh said that early in the morning the girls came down from the second floor. There are 23 girls here right now. It was morning time so most of the girls were awake. They were busy in their work. Seeing both of them jumping from the net, the rest of the girls raised an alarm. Hearing the noise, the employees ran to catch them, but they got into the car and left. We informed the police, but they could not be caught. We had already written a letter to the Child Welfare Committee regarding both the girls and asked them to shift them somewhere else, but this was not done. Now the result is in front of us.
Girls studying in BCA have mobile phones
Rao Vijay Singh said that we do not know how the girls planned it. They were living here for about a month. Every Saturday we make them talk to their relatives. Girls studying BCA have mobile phones. It is possible that they planned it on their mobile phones. But we cannot say this clearly.
One girl has run away after marriage. Both the girls have run away from their house before this as well. The girl, who hails from Kapasan district Chittorgarh, was married in Nahargarh. From here she ran away with a young man. An FIR in this regard is also registered in Nahargarh police station. The police had then registered a case under sections 363, 366, 376(2). After the girl was recovered, the Child Welfare Committee sent her to her home on 8 June 2024. Since then she was living in her home.
Another girl from Neemuch had also gone for a walk with a young man. Her missing report was registered at Neemuch Cantt police station. When the police recovered her, the girl refused to go with her relatives. On 28 June 2024, she was also sent to her home by the Child Welfare Committee. In view of all these cases, a letter was written from Apna Ghar asking to shift the girls somewhere else.
Girls from other districts or states cannot be kept here
Rao Vijay Singh said that the girls who are from other districts or states should be sent to their own districts by the Child Welfare Committee. Sometimes girls from other states stay here for two years. The girls did not want to stay here but the Child Welfare Committee did not let them go. Once a girl even tried to commit suicide. In another case, a girl drank phenyl. Till date, all the girls who tried to run away have said in their statements that the Child Welfare Committee does not let them go, so they have to take such a step. An officer of the Child Welfare Committee issues orders on a single signature, while a committee is formed for this. The opinion of the committee members is also necessary on any order.

-New Abadi TI Varun Tiwari said that CCTV footage has been found in which both the girls are seen going on two bikes. When the bike number was traced, Vikram’s name is coming up in it. More information is being gathered.
The superintendent of her home lodged a complaint at the police station
Bharti Sharma, the superintendent of Apna Ghar, had complained to the police that a 17-year-9-month-old minor girl from Chittor district was admitted to Apna Ghar, Sitamau Phatak, Mandsaur, on June 8, 2024, and a 15-year-8-month-old minor from Neemuch district was admitted to the institution on June 28, 2024. On July 20, at 5:45 am, both the minors left the institution with someone without informing anyone. We searched for them, but they were not found. She suspected that unknown miscreants came on a bike and took them away. Earlier also, both the girls had gone somewhere from their home without informing anyone.
