Naiduniya Representative, Indore (Swine Flu in Indore). Dr. Vijay Babu Gupta, HOD of School of Data Science, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), died of swine flu on Saturday. This is the first death due to swine flu this year. He was undergoing treatment in a private hospital for about seven days. His wife and daughter were also infected with him, who were discharged two days ago.
He is currently in isolation. Let us tell you that he was ill ever since he met a professor from Mexico at the two-day International Conference on Business Intelligence, Computational Mathematics and Data Analytics held at the university on 23-24 August.
It is feared that the swine flu virus spread from the professor who came from Mexico, because he was with them for the entire time for about three days. Doctors said that apart from swine flu, the patient also had other diseases including sleep apnea and hypertension. He was undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors in the hospital.
He was on ventilator for three days
Family members said that on Saturday Dr. Gupta had high fever along with cold and cough. Due to this he was admitted to Suyash Hospital. He was found swine flu positive in the test. Due to deteriorating health, he was kept on ventilator for the last three days. He lived with his wife and two daughters.
A total of 13 patients were found in Indore this year
We have not received any information from the hospital yet. A total of 13 positive cases have been found in Indore since January and three patients are active, who are undergoing treatment. According to experts, if anyone has complaints like cold and high fever, they should immediately seek treatment. Swine flu is also known as H1N1 influenza virus.
