In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a patwari had to pay a heavy price for causing revenue loss to the government by changing the names of landowners in the Khasra records without the order of a competent officer. Ghatigaon SDM Rajiv Samadhiya has suspended him. Along with this, a departmental inquiry has also been initiated against him. The SDM was constantly receiving complaints from farmers against the patwari. After which this action has been taken.
In fact, Patwari Bhuvanchand Maurya of Patwari Halka No. 10 Banheri and Patwari Bhuvanchand Maurya of Additional Halka No. 6 Sahasari changed the name of the landowner in the revenue khasra of villages Chuhi, Poohri, Banhera, Barahana, Senkara, Senkari and Pahsari by uploading blank papers from his login ID without the order of the competent officer. This caused a huge loss of revenue to the government.

Tehsildar Ghatigaon had submitted a detailed report to register an FIR against Patwari Maurya. In which it was told that Patwari Maurya has misled the presiding officer and the court by tampering with the revenue records in fraudulent ways. On receiving complaints of such serious irregularities, SDM Rajiv Samadhiya has suspended Patwari Maurya. During the suspension period, Bhuvanchand Maurya’s headquarters will be Tehsildar Circle Rehat. He will not be allowed to leave the headquarters without the permission of the Sub-Divisional Officer.

It is worth noting that after this act of Patwari Maurya has come to light, the administration can also investigate his previous locations of posting. The administration fears that the Patwari may have committed similar fraud at his previous location as well.
