District Court Special Judge Sabir Ahmed Khan has sentenced the then Mineral Inspector Ramesh Rawat to four years of imprisonment after finding him guilty of taking bribe from a brick industry businessman. He had taken a bribe of fifty thousand rupees in lieu of renewal of mineral brick soil (crusher based) for the quarry lease and approved excavation lease of the brick industry business.

According to the prosecution, on February 1, 2018, complainant Jagmohan Prajapati gave a complaint in the Lokayukta office and said that he is the proprietor of JM Brick Industry and runs a brick kiln business. His lease was valid till March 2017, the information of which as per the rules had to be given to the mining department a year ago by March 2016, which he was unable to do.

In this regard, he had submitted the application form along with the late fee. Still, mining inspector Ramesh Rawat has been harassing him for a long time. As per rules, he deposited all the fees and late fees, but when he met Ramesh Rawat in the mining office, he said that the work will not be done without paying money. Your work will cost 50 thousand rupees.
