Milk manager and SPO sentenced to four years each for taking bribe in Ratlam

Naiduniya Representative, Ratlam: The court in Ratlam sentenced two people, manager Ganpatlal Biram and sales promotion organizer Saurabh Jain, to four years imprisonment in the case of taking bribe for payment of diesel bill. A fine of Rs 2,000 each was also imposed on both of them. The case was confirmed by the Lokayukta.

District Prosecution Officer Govind Prasad Ghatia said that on May 3, 2019, applicant Rameet Jain had reached Lokayukta office Ujjain and given a written complaint that he works as Sanchi milk distributor cum transporter in the name of Jain Agency. The posted plant manager Ganpatlal Biram had demanded a bribe of ten thousand rupees in return for getting the bill paid.

After this, Ramit Jain went to manager Ganpatlal Biram and taped the bribe related conversation. During the conversation, Ganpatlal Biram had said that if he can give ten thousand rupees in four-five days, Ramit had said that he does not have the money right now, he will make arrangements and give it after ten days.

Lokayukta planned to catch the manager red-handed taking bribe and went to the office and arrested Ganpatlal Biram and Saurabh Jain. During interrogation, Saurabh Jain had told that he had taken ten thousand rupees as bribe and kept it inside the fridge kept in the store room. After this, money was seized from the fridge. Special public prosecutor Krishnakant Chauhan represented the government in the case.

Special Public Prosecutor Krishnakant Chauhan said that the court also punished accused Ganpatlal Biram and co-accused Saurabh Jain with two years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of two thousand rupees each under section 120B of IPC. Both the sentences will run concurrently. After the sentencing, both were sent to jail after completing the paperwork.
