There is a provision for registration of such institutions under the Motor Transport Workers Act 1961. The number of motor transport transport institutions and workers working in them is abundant in the state. Workers in these institutions are deprived of the benefits of government schemes under labor laws.

State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh government will conduct labor registration of drivers, conductors and cleaners of buses, trucks, loading vehicles. For this, the Labor Department will run a campaign for one month for registration of workers engaged in motor transport institutions.

In this regard, Labor Commissioner Dhanaraju S has issued instructions to all labor officers. Actually, in motor transport institutions, drivers, conductors, cleaners, and those doing loading and unloading come under the category of labourers.

For the welfare of these workers, there is a provision for registration of such institutions under the Motor Transport Workers Act 1961.

There are a large number of motor transport transport institutes and workers working in them in the state, but despite this they are not registered. In such a situation, the workers employed in these institutions are deprived of the benefits of government schemes under labor laws.

Will encourage you to register

By running a campaign in the next one month, motor traffic institutes and transport honors, associations etc. running under the concerned government, semi-government, private bodies, institutions will be contacted and they will also be encouraged to register under the Act, so that the number of registrations and renewals increases. There can be growth and the workers employed in these can get the benefits of the provisions of labor laws.

Due to indifference of field officers, workers do not get benefits

Such institutions are not being registered as per the Act nor are they being inspected regularly by the field labor officers. In such a situation, the workers of these institutions are not able to get the benefits of the schemes of the Central and State Government. Due to this, the workers employed in these institutions are not able to get various benefits under labor laws like minimum wages, weekly holidays and other holidays, overtime, uniforms and medical facilities etc.
